The Republic of Buryatia is situated in the Southern part of East Siberia It borders with Irkutsk and Chita region Republic of Tiva and Mongolia Buriatia stretches for more than 351,3 thousands of sq. km. The capital of Buraitia is the city of Ulan – Ude. They consider Buriatia to be some kind of Russian gate to the world of Central Asia .

We are open for recruitment of foreign students from all over the world. Studying at our university foreign students are also open for themselves wonderful country of forests and steps, full rivers and lakes that is the Republic of Buriatia . It is the region full of sunny days, washed by pure waters, rich in old legends originated to deep past of ancient civilizations.

Предвузовская подготовка
иностранных граждан осуществляется по программам "Предвузовское обучение" (отраслевой стандарт 23.05.97 № 866).

Стоимость обучения на подготовительном факультете составляет 1300 дол. США за год.

На подготовительном факультете университета проводится обучение иностранных граждан русскому языку как средству получения специальности, а также обучение общеобразовательным дисциплинам до уровня, позволяющего учиться в институтах и основных факультетах университета по избранным направлениям и специальностям высшего профессионального образования.

В течение последних лет предвузовскую подготовку на подготовительном факультете университета прошли 28 граждан Китая, Монголии, Камбоджи, которые в настоящее время обучаются по специальностям: ''Мировая Экономика'', '' Юриспруденция'', Таможенное дело'', ''Менеджмент организации'', ''Технология мяса и мясных продуктов'', '' Электроэнергетические сети и системы ''.

Pre – university training courses

Pre -University Training courses for foreign citizens are realized by the “ Pre university training ” Program (the branch standard № 866 dated 23.05.97)

At Pre- university faculty tuition fee is 1300 USD per academic year. At Pre – university faculty foreign students study both Russian Language as means to get specialty and basic disciplines at a level allow them to study in institutes and main faculties at chosen specialties of Higher Professional Education.

During the last years 28 citizens from China, Mongolia, Cambodia had trained at Pre – University courses of Preparatory Faculty, which are now the students of such specialties as “International Economics”, “Law”, “Customs”, “Enterprise Management”, “ Meat and meat products Technology”.

Летние школы русского языка на Байкале

Университет имеет опыт проведения летних школ русского языка на Байкале. В 1996-1997 годах успешно прошли летние школы русского языка на Байкале для студентов университета '' Обирин'' (Япония); в1999, 2002 годах– для студентов Кореи, Китая продолжительностью три недели. Программа обучения русскому языку проводилась по интенсивно – традиционной методике, разработанной в школе Г.А. Китайгородской при МГУ им. Ломоносова: первая неделя обучения в университете, вторая и третья недели на Байкале. Проведение летних школ русского языка показали высокую активность, трудоспособность студентов и необычайный интерес к культуре и быту народов Забайкалья.

В свободное время студентам была предложена программа культурно – массовых мероприятий ( знакомство с Бурятией – посещение Иволгинского дацана – центра буддизма в России, этнографического музея под открытым небом, демонстрирующего образ жизни народов Забайкалья, экскурсия к староверам (семейским), посещение мест ссылки декабристов, поездка в г. Кяхту (приграничный город с Монголией) '' Великий чайный путь в 17-18 веках'', морское путешествие по национальному Забайкальскому парку к полуострову Святой Нос, по Чевыркуйскому заливу и бухту Змеевая).

ESSTU offers Special Scientific Courses for professors, scientific collaborators and specialists of Foreign Higher Education Institutes and Organization at leading University Chairs and scientific laboratories carrying out scientific researches in various fundamental and leading fields of study.

Russian Language Summer School on Lake Baikal

The University has the experience in the organization of Russian Language Summer Schools on Lake Baikal shore. In 1996-1997, three weeks Russian Language Summer Schools was held for Obirin University students ( Japan); in 1999, 2000 – for Chinese and Korean students. Russian Language training programs was based on intensive and traditional methods, worked out in G. Kitaygorodskaya school attached to Lomonosov Moscow State University : during the first week training was held in the university, the second and third weeks – at Lake Baikal . Such Summer Schools showed students high activity, capacity for work and their immense interest to culture and life of Baikal region people.

In spare time students had a chance to know more about Buryatia. They were offered Cultural program “Acquaintance with Buryatia” – Visit to Ivolginskij Datsan - the center of Buddism in Russia, Open Air Ethnographical Museum, demonstrating people’s style of life in Zabaikalie, excursion to old believers (semeiskie) and Desembers exile places, trip to the city of Kyakhta at a boundary with Mongolia, “The Great Tea Way” in XVII- XVIII centuries, sea- journey through Zabaikalskij National Park to peninsula of Svyatoi Nos, along Chevirkuiskij gulf and Zmeevaya bay.

As the result after Russian Language Summer Schools they were worked out training programs of various duration: from 3 weeks to one month. They were prepared a lot of polylogues for different groups, collected various didactic materials. All polylogues were elaborated in accordance with national component taking in consideration Asian life conception. As the experience shows. during three weeks of intensive training non –Russian- speaker student could acquire rather actively 800-1500 lexical units.

Культурная и спортивная жизнь иностранных студентов

Учеба в университете – это не только конспекты, лекции, но и студенческие каникулы, спортивные состязания, Веселые дискотеки, отдых на берегу Байкала.

Иностранные учащиеся принимают активное участие в культурной и спортивной жизни университета и города.

Певцы и танцоры из Китая, Камбоджи, Монголии являются активными участниками художественной самодеятельности студенческого клуба ВСГТУ. Они являются непременными участниками праздничных концертов, посвященных Международному дню студентов.
Традиционным праздником дружбы для всех иностранных студентов университета стал праздник "Белого месяца" означающий встречу нового года по восточному календарю.

Многие из иностранных учащихся увлекаются спортом. Это волейбол, баскетбол, борьба, теннис.

Команда монгольских студентов университета является неоднократным победителем спортивных соревнований среди иностранных студентов вузов города, ежегодно проводимых Генеральным Консульством Монголии в г. Улан-Удэ.

Незабываемы летние каникулы, проведенные иностранными студентами на живописнейшем берегу Байкала в спортивно-оздоровительном лагере университета "Ровесник".

Долго еще у себя на Родине они будут вспоминать туристические тропы, вечера у костра, Воздух, наполненный благоуханьем трав, радостное ощущение в себе сил, которое щедро дарит всемирно известный Байкал.

Юй Хун Кай ( КНР), 25.07.80 г рождения, студент 5 курса Института Экономики и права университета, специальности '' Мировая Экономика''.

Когда я приехал в Россию, мне было очень нелегко, не знал языка, не было друзей. Я часто писал письма домой. Но прошло время, я стал изучать русский язык, а когда учишь язык и имеешь возможность общаться с его носителями, то это очень помогает и пониманию языка, и загадочной русской души.

Мне интересно учиться в родном университете, у всех преподавателей и сотрудников очень доброжелательной отношение к студентам. Я полюбил Бурятию, удивительно красивый и неповторимый по своему ландшафту край, ее традиции и культуру, ее гостеприимный и радушный народ.

Сейчас у меня много друзей, с которыми мы любим встречаться, общаться и отдыхать. То, что я приехал учиться в Россию - большое событие в моей жизни.

Кхым Сотхен (Камбоджа) 10.07.78 г. рождения

я студент 3 курса Института экономики и права.

Я родился в г. Пномпене, далекой Камбодже, где нет зимы, круглый год лето.

В 1998 году я приехал к брату в г. Улан-Удэ, который также учился в университете, и поступил на курсы русского языка. Прожив год, я открыл для себя новую гостеприимную страну, народ, и решил учиться дальше. После окончания подготовительного факультета я поступил в университет на специальность "Менеджмент организации". Бурятия, о которой я раньше ничего не знал, стала для меня второй Родиной, здесь я встретил свою любовь и стал отцом. Теперь у меня много не только друзей, но и родственников. Жена моя, Надежда, также студентка университета. Мне нравится учиться в университете, интересно, в форме дискуссий, проводятся семинарские занятия, на которых мы обсуждаем и решаем практические вопросы достижения успеха в сфере управления и бизнеса в различных государственных и акционерных предприятиях. Поэтому к семинарским занятиям необходимо постоянно готовиться, иметь свое видение на обсуждаемые вопросы. У меня теперь есть семья, родной университет и планы на будущее.

В 2000 г. я поступил в университет на подготовительный факультет, в настоящее время учусь на 3 курсе, собираюсь стать юристом. Мои родители скотоводы и живут на юге Монголии. Первый год мне было учиться трудно, пришлось очень много заниматься. Сейчас все сессии я сдаю хорошо, университет стал для меня родным домом. В свободное время занимаюсь любимым спортом – волной борьбой.

Тамир – мастер спорта Монголии по вольной борьбе, 2-х кратный победитель (2002, 2003 гг.) межвузовских международных соревнований по вольной борьбе и национальной борьбе в г. Улан-Удэ.

Students memories

Yuj Hun Kaj ( China ), 25.07.80, is a five year student at the Institute of Economics and Law, specialty of “ International Economics”.

“When I came to Russia , I had many difficulties. I did not know language, I had no friends and wrote letters to my family in China very often. But the time passed, and I’ve began to study Russian language. When you study language, you have the possibility to communicate with Russian people, this helps you to understand both language and mysterious Russian soul.

It is interesting to study in the university. All professors are very well- disposed to students. I loved Buryatia, this wonderfully beautiful region with unique landscape, its traditions and culture, hospitable and warm people.

Now I have many friends, with whom I like to meet, share spare time and have a rest. It is a big event in my life that I came to study in Russia .”

Khim Sotkhen ( Cambodia ) 10.07.78 date of birth, is a three- year student at the Institute of Economics and Law:

“ I was born in Phnom Penh , the city of far Cambodia , where there is no winter, and where there is summer all the year round.

In 1998 I came to my brother in Ulan – Ude, who had been studying in the university. I entered to the Russian language courses. A year passed, I opened for myself a new and hospitable country, its people and decided to study further. After graduating the Preparatory faculty I entered to the university at the specialty of “ Enterprise Management”. Buryatia that I knew nothing about earlier, became the second motherland for me. Here I met my love, became a father. Now I have a lot of friends and relatives. My wife, Nadezhda, is also a university student. I like to study in the university. It is interesting when seminars are organized in the form of a discussions, where we discuss and solve practical questions of success reaching in the sphere of management and business at various state and join – stock enterprises. That is why it is necessary always to be ready for seminars and have your own opinion on discussed questions. Now I have my family, native university and plans for the future.

Demberelsuren Tamir ( Mongolia ) 14.07.82 date of birth, is a three - year student at the Institute of Economics and Law, specialty of “Law”.

“ In 200 year I entered to the university at the Preparatory faculty. At present I am a three – year student and I am going to be lawyer. M parents are cattle – breeders, they live in the South of Mongolia. The first year was difficult for me, I had to study a lot. Now I pass all exams well. The university became the second home for me. During my free time I am going in for my favorite sport – Free wrestling.

Tamir is a Mongolian Master of sport on free wrestling. Double winner (2002,2003) of International inter – university Free and National Wrestling competition, organized by Mongolian Consulate in the city of Ulan – Ude.
