The East-Siberian State University of Technology is in
Buryatia. The Republic of Buryatia is the land of broad scenic vistas
with vast forest and steppe areas, life-giving mineral springs and of course
world famous Lake Baikal.
Visitors to Buryatia are offered:
unbeatable sking experience on Lake Baikal. You will learn that Winter Baikal is a sculptor as well. On its shores it constructs magnificent monuments from heaps of ice glistening on the sun like glass.
After happy fishing and skiing You are a welcome guest in
a beautiful buryat urta located on the shore of the Baikal. You will
be treated with national Buryat cuisine made up of hot poses, green tea
with milk, etc. You will experience Russian banya with the siberian tea,
soft drinks made of local berries.
The University tourist camp "Rovesnik" is located
on the picturesque lake Baikal shore 220 km from Ulan-Ude, 7 km from the
village Maximikha and 40 km from Barguzin settlement.
On Lake Baikal you may stay in the University's tourist camp. It is situated on the picturesque shore of Lake Baikal, 220 km away from Ulan-Ude, 7 km from Maximikha village and 40 km from Ust-Barguzin settlement.
There are two hotels made of wood. There are single and double
rooms. One hotel has cold and hot running water and a bath-room. The other
hotel has a room for washing, and a biotoilet at night. There is no shower
in ether of them.
Mostly by bus and by car. On the way to the camp you will be informed about the republic, lake Baikal, health spa Goryachinsk (mineral springs resort).
Natural dairy products; meat and fish (Baikal omul, graling, white fish), eggs, pine nuts, vegetables, fruit, juices, beverages. Visitors are offered Buryat national cuisine. You may also have meal to order.
Visitors to Buryatia are offered the following excursions:
Ivolga-datsan (Buddhist monastery) tour. The datsan a centre of buddhism in Russia, is located 40 km from Ulan-Ude;
visit to the ethnography museum of Peoples of the East of the Baikal;
a car trip to Novoselenginsk settlement, place of Decembrists exile and to town of Kyakhta, the oldest trading center on the border with Mongolia;
ethnography tour to the old-believers.
The tour programmes are supposed for 10-15 persons and more.
The period of stay is 5-10 days from 1 st to 31 of March.
lodging, meals, service at the camp Rovesnik, depends on the accommodation - 40-60 $ a night
transportation, tour operator (guide), interpreter driver - 170$ per person.
